The search for our family stories and illusive ancestors can become an all consuming, but infintely rewarding task. Genealogy is a word that is derived from Greek meaning tracing the decent of a family or individual. It is simply the vital facts: full name, birth date, birth place, marriage date and place and death date and place. The chart is called a pedigree.
Family history if genealogy and much more. It includes collecting documents, recording stories, making scrapbooks, storing and sharing photos, tapes, and videos, and planning family reunions. Writing about the life, times, and traditions of the people on your chart will help you make connections to the past that defined and shaped your life and attitudes.
Please Note: The skill workbook is about 6 mg in size and will take some time to download. |
