The project began by borrowing this flatbed trailer and bringing it to Bill Nesse's home.

Thank Goodness that Bill has plenty of property for us to spread out.
Russ and Kris Bakich painting the lettering on the trailer sides
9 of us working that day paused for a pose. (The shields were only held in place by hand. Nancy would soon paint different designs on them)
Bill takes a break as we begin to add the lighting.

Nancy's family really got into it...A space ship requires an astronaut with a space suit
Nancy's family came prepared for a cold evening's march in the parade
We had to reassemble the float when we arrived as the sail and shields would not have survived the highway speeds. This was one of the few moments that snow wasn't falling.
It's getting dark,so we now had to test and adjust the lighting.

Nancy's whole family came to march. We had little Norwegian flags, candy to give to children, and Stein Fjell, SON brochures to hand out to adults
The floats are getting into position at the start of the parade.
Craig Bergsgaard volunteered to tow the float in the parade. He also provided the 3000 watt generator.
It was freezing cold...but the crowds showed up in town.

The parade is over...but we couldn't just throw all that work away. Bill and Ron Browne are carefully disassembling the float
Kathy brought out some warm drinks as the trailer is being cleaned out
Keith Robbins volunteers his garage to store the project for possibly another parade
Bill, Richard and Ras work on the electrical wiring needed for illuminating the project

Kathy Browne, Craig Bergsgaard, and Ras Erdal discuss the logistics of moving from Greeley to Loveland, to Estes Park, and then back to Loveland with the trailer.
